Hi! My name is Ashley Holt, and I am the owner and founder of Paws Up! My lifelong love of dogs was something that I couldn't get past when trying to figure out my next career path a few years back. Since I was a young teen, I've always walked dogs for friends, neighbors, and family. Anywhere I ever lived, I would always offer my services to neighbors and anyone locally with a dog, just because I wanted to spend time with their pups! After my husband and I bought our house in Conshohocken, I was adamant about getting a dog. About three weeks later, we were on our way to pick Griffey. Growing up with Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, I was so excited to have a "big dog". Griffey, being a black lab/Bernese Mt. dog mix, was projected to be around 140lbs when fully grown. Lucky for us, he was the runt of the litter, and currently stands at a whopping 120lbs. Two years later, and after months of begging for a second dog, we were presented the opportunity to re-home a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. That's when Buddy, or Beez as we call him, entered our lives. 

Being the ultimate dog lover, I found myself just wanting to spend my days with the dogs. My husband suggested starting up my dog walking on the side while I transitioned to a new career. Within a few months, I had more than a side hustle on my hands. They say word of mouth is the best form of marketing, and Paws Up is proof of that. I realized that I could actually make this a full time gig, and get to spend my days with dogs - what could be better! In May 2017, I took the plunge and left my job, and it was the best decision I've ever made! (Besides getting my pups). 

I wanted to create a business that stood apart from other pet care businesses. It's so important for my clients to trust me fully, and know that I care for their pets like they are my own. Within one year, Paws Up tripled the amount of clients that we had originally hoped to have. Growing this business has been an amazing experience, and I'm so excited to continue to grow and get the opportunity to care for more and more amazing pets!
